After a cool spring, we have had our usual warm days of June, which seem to be spilling into hot summer days in July. Warm days can bring back wonderful memories of picnics, swimming, family reunions, ants, ice cream, reading in the sun, baseball, road trips and the list goes on and on. Such great times may be clouded with a cancer diagnosis or a grief journey. But their memories remain and more memories are always being created. This month at Gilda’s Club Grand Rapids, we hope that you will use July to stop and enjoy the relaxation of these lazy days. We have many activities that continue from last month and some new ones that will give you an opportunity to enjoy the beauty of summer and the camaraderie of being here with others... Come and relax with the Movie Matinee Club and watch “Australia” on the 13th or the book club on the 16th and read “Loving Frank”. Help out in our gardens any Tuesday or try your hand at crafting with a soap making class on the 16th, a lavender workshop on the 27th, or a crochet and embroidery class on the 20th. So much can be gained from sharing and learning with others who are experiencing what you or your loved one may be experiencing on a cancer journey.

"A perfect summer day is when the sun is shining,
the breeze is blowing, the birds are singing, and the lawn mower is broken."
